Phil Bridges
President / Instructor
Owner
A graduate of Acadia University, with a B.A. in Recreation in 1983, Phil has over 30 years experience teaching and coaching youth in softball, soccer and hockey. He has coached hockey teams from the Novice to Senior levels, including a Maritime Senior Championship in 1999 with the Kensington Granites. He served as General Manager of the Summerside Western Capitals from 1999-2002, which included the team being named Executive of the year in 2001 when they captured the Roger Meek division championship in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.
He is also a former scout with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League.
He is regarded as one of the top teachers of the game on P.E.I.
Dwayne McNeill
Vice-President / Instructor
Owner
A former player with Junior and Senior experience, he has spent the past several years coaching. He has been head instructor for the Summerside Skills program and was also a Coach with the Summerside Novice AA team, which won 3 of 4 tournaments. His committment to working with the younger kids has played a significant role in the succes the younger teams in the Summerside Association has enjoyed as of late. With 4 young boys under the age of 9, he can be found at the rink almost every day of the week. We are excited to have Dwayne bring that energy and passion for the game to the Xtreme program.
Dave Dunn
Lead Instructor
An Advance Level 1 Coach, he has coached from Initiation to Junior A. Dave has 28 years experience teaching at hockey schools and developing programs to help players achieve their goals. He is considered one of the top teachers of Hockey Skating around. Dave is looking forward to working with the participants at Xtreme Hockey's Summer programs.
Paul Flannigan
Lead Instructor
Paul is a certified Mentor coach and attended the Advanced Level clinic in Fredericton in 2003. He has thirty years coaching experience at the minor hockey level, directing teams and individuals from Initiation to Bantam AAA. He has coached elite spring teams and enjoyed the role of Lead Coach at many Hockey Schools during this time.
He was Head Coach of the HPEI U15 Silver Medallists in 2006. In that same year, Paul was selected to participate in the National Coach Mentorship Program held in Ottawa, where he was among a select group from across Canada that was trained in the development and delivery of Specialty Clinics.
Gordie White
Instructor / Goaltenders
Gordie played Senior hockey and has been working with young goalies for many years. He has worked at several Hockey Schools before joining the staff at Xtreme Hockey. Gordie is highly respected by the parents and young goalies he has helped improve their game.
Thomas Waugh
Instructor
Thomas is in his first year as Assistant Coach with the Summerside Western Capitals Junior A team. Thomas played 5 seasons with the U.P.E.I. Panthers and was team Captain for his last two seasons. As a Junior, he played with the St. Michaels Majors of the Ontario League for 1 and a 1\2 seasons, before returning home to finish his Junior career with the Summerside Western Capitals. Thomas is a great teacher and well respected by camp participants.
